Sustainability
A holistic approach to design is central to our practice principles. Fundamental to this is an understanding of the primary importance of passive measures as integral to the design at all stages. We have a policy of sourcing materials responsibly and promoting low energy construction, supported by the evolving expertise of our staff. Within the office, we have experience & training in Passivhaus, Part L DEAP compliance, thermal bridge analysis and dynamic simulation. We have incorporated active building technologies and systems into many of our design projects.
Donaghy + Dimond recognise the inherent sustainability of reusing existing structures and historic buildings. We have expertise in the conservation, repair and adaptation of existing structures, based on many years of experience and informed by best practice.
